I am Mauro Gentz, a Senior IT Consultant at msg services gmbh and Technical Lead for Cloud Technologies. My journey in cloud leadership began in June 2021 when I took on the role of Technical Lead for the Google Cloud Team. In August 2023, I expanded my responsibilities to include the AWS Cloud Team, and since 2025, I have also been leading the Azure Cloud Team. With this progression, I now hold overarching responsibility for all three major cloud platforms, ensuring technical excellence, strategic alignment, and innovation across the company. In this role, I lead a team of 18 cloud professionals who specialize in AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, working together to drive collaboration and innovation in multi-cloud environments.
My role extends beyond leadership, I am deeply involved in designing services for our customers and shaping the overall cloud architecture. Acting as a enterprise architect, I focus on developing scalable, secure, and future proof solutions that meet the evolving needs of businesses.
From Portugal to the IT World
My journey into the IT world began in Hamburg, Germany. After moving to Vila Real, Portugal, at the age of 12, I completed my high school education in “Technical Management and Programming of Computer Systems” in 2011. My passion for technology brought me back to Germany in 2012, where I started my IT career as an IT supporter at Info AG, later QSC AG. From 2013 to 2017, I worked as a Citrix IT administrator at QSC AG before joining msg services gmbh in 2017.
Throughout my career, I have consistently pursued professional development, obtaining numerous certifications, including:

- Google Professional Cloud Architect
Expertise and Specializations:
I specialize in designing and implementing scalable cloud architectures across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. My work focuses on:
- Developing and optimizing LandingZones for secure and efficient cloud adoption.
- Designing cloud-based services tailored to customer needs.
- Overseeing multi-cloud architecture to ensure seamless integration and strategic alignment across platforms.
Leadership Roles:
- Technical Lead Google Cloud (since June 2021): Leading the GCP team and driving cloud innovation.
- Technical Lead AWS (since August 2023): Expanding leadership to AWS, focusing on architecture and service development.
- Technical Lead Azure (since 2025): Taking on responsibility for Azure, completing my role as overarching Fachlead for all three major hyperscalers.
Personal Engagements:
Outside of my professional life, I am deeply committed to my community and family. I enjoy sailing with former classmates and spending quality time with my wife and two children. I am an active member of the municipal council, contributing to local politics, and a dedicated member of the Volunteer Fire Department. As a wildfire specialist and trainer, I provide valuable training to firefighters across Germany through FireToolBox.
